Matthew Zandi

Matthew Zandi is one of the founding members of the California Republican Lawyers Association . He served as the chairman of the California Republican Lawyers Association from 2000 to 2003. During his chairmanship, CRLA established fifteen active chapters and was chartered as the only Republican Lawyers organization by the Republican Party of California.

In pursuit of freedom and the American dream, Mr. Zandi immigrated to the United States from Iran at the age of fourteen. He was immediately drawn to the Republican Party and the conservative movement. He began as a grassroots activist, and quickly became a leader in the conservative movement. Mr. Zandi served as the Chairman of California Young Americans for Freedom and National Vice Chairman of Young Americans for Freedom from 1992 to 1997. He was appointed to the California Republican Party State executive committee in 1992 and served on the Rules and Resolutions committee.

Mr. Zandi has over fifteen years of experience in state and national politics, collation building, and strategy development. A seasoned campaign manager and consultant, he has worked on some of the most contested Assembly, Senate, Congressional, and three presidential campaigns. Prior to his legal career, his work in creating political direct mail was recognized by the American Political Consultants Association, and featured in Campaigns and Elections magazine and U.S. News & World Report.

Mr. Zandi attended the University of California at Irvine for his undergraduate studies (B.A., 1996) where he graduated cum laude. Mr. Zandi attended Pepperdine School of Law (J.D., 1999) where he received a full tuition scholarship. He was honored with the California Excellence for Future Award in employment law, and the California State Assembly Scholastic Achievement Award.

Mr. Zandi clerked for the Honorable David Sills, Presiding Justice, Fourth District, Third Division of the California Court of Appeals where he co-authored the landmark employment law case of Marks v. Loral Corp., 57 Cal.App.4th 30 (1997).

Mr. Zandi is a seasoned trial attorney. He has served as a Senior Trial Attorney at the United States Department of Justice and as an Assistant United States Attorney. His practice areas include civil and criminal white collar litigation, qui tam and whistle blowers actions, civil rights, and labor and employment matters.Matt’s real joy in life is his wife Felicia and their daughter Candace Yasmine.
